Rein, of course, is
an alias for our author, an IRA activist who is in his mid forties and now
living in the Caribbean. He spent seven years in prison in Europe, where
he began writing. Most of his early prose was directed to both his IRA followers,
as well as towards his enemies. After "venting" for several years, Rein began
to write a more sensitive viewpoint on his own life and the lives of people
who knew from his youth in Belfast through his time in prison.
Upon his release in 1992, Rein left Europe for the relaxing, safe
haven of a remote Caribbean island to continue his writing. Rumors abound
that he took with him over $20 million in stolen cash and securities from
his "rebel" years. He, of course, denies this.
Rein grants no interviews and keeps both his real name and any photographs
hidden from publishers, the media, and his growing number of readers. His
first short stories were available on the internet, where he spent time,
and still does today, "chatting" with friends and readers. He currently has
written thirteen stories, which we define as "erotica", and which Rein defines
as "sensual". Regardless of semantics, all his stories blend a unique sense
of humor, intrigue, surprise, and no small degree of arousing imagery. Despite
what appears to be an obvious partial autobiographical "slant" to the
Rein
Storm collection, Rein denies
any association with the characters in his stories.
The first edition of
Rein
Storm will be available as a
fifteen story collection, in hardcover, through book stores nationally, and
internet resellers, by August 2002.
